Jeff Walz got a big commitment today when 5-star point guard Taja Cole (Class of 2015) gave her verbal pledge to the Cards. Cole is rated as the 17th best player in the entire class of 2015. She is 5’7 and from Richmond, Virginia.

ESPN has these notes about her: Explosively athletic lead guard defends, anticipates, converts in pressure; a disruptive defender; elevates in mid-range attack, splits double teams, finishes in traffic with body control. (Olson)

This season she is averaging 15.7 points and 6.6 assists per game for Lloyd C. Bird High School, who is ranked 32nd in the state of Virginia. Check out highlights of the lefty below.

Walz has already signed a great class for 2014, getting 5 players from the ESPN Top 100. Louisville has the 8th best class according to ESPN.

Myisha Hines-Allen: 5-star 6’1 wing, McDonald’s All-American

Mariya Moore: 5-star 6’0 wing, McDonald’s All-American

Sydney Brackemyre: 5-star wing, 6’0

Arica Carter: 4-star guard, 5’8

Ariana Freeman: 4-star wing, 5’11
