Louisville will play their first game in the AAC Tournament on Thursday afternoon at 3:00 pm ET against 7th seeded Rutgers, who defeated 10th seeded South Florida 72-68 yesterday. Rutgers improved to 12-20 with the win.
The last time these two teams met was on February 16 at the KFC Yum! Center as the Cards won 102-54. Luke Hancock had 25 points and was 6-8 from 3 while also having 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Russ Smith had 7 points. So let me repeat: Louisville scored 102 points and Russ Smith only had 7.
David Levitch played 5 minutes and had 4 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist. So had he played 40 minutes, he would have had 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists. Not too bad. However, he did have 3 fouls in those 5 minutes, so maybe the whole 40 minute thing wouldn’t have happened.
If Louisville advances, they will face the winner of (3) SMU and (6) Houston tomorrow at 7:00 pm ET.
