Louisville cornerback Charles Gaines has been named a 3rd Team Preseason All-American by SportingNews.com. Gaines will be a junior this season and is expected to be one of the leaders on defense. If nothing else, he will surely be a VOCAL leader. If you are at a game this season or especially an open practice, just watch Gaines for a few minutes. Let me know if there is a time where he is not talking.
Gaines has played wide receiver for Louisville but settled in very nicely last season at cornerback. He had 5 interceptions on the season and returned 1 for a touchdown. Anytime he touches the ball, he is a threat to score, whether that be on defense or special teams.
