Offensive tackle Khalil Hunter is currently playing his football at Eastern Arizona Junior College in Thatcher, Arizona. The big man, listed at 6’4 and 300 lbs, recently updated CSZ on his recruitment status. “To be honest with you, Louisville and Georgia are my top two,” Hunter said. “I love talking to Coach K (offensive line coach Chris Klenakis).” The Cards offered a scholarship to Hunter back in early April.

So are there any visits in store for Hunter? “Yeah I plan on taking an official visit to Louisville in the fall. I think I’m going to try and visit UGA later this summer.” Aside from those two schools, Hunter also noted that South Florida is still in the mix with him. But with Louisville and Georiga, “they are both pretty even right now,” Hunter said.

Hunter said that what got him interested in Louisville was “the fact that it’s a winning school/program and I feel like it’s my best opportunity to go to the NFL…It’s always been that way (Louisville players in the NFL), and this year’s draft also helped.”

When asked about what the deciding factor will be, Hunter said that “It’s going to come down to the city and coaching scheme because I feel like I can play wherever.” And getting back to his relationship with Coach Klenakis, Hunter said he likes “the fact that he calls and stays in contact with me on Twitter whenever he can. And the fact that he has SEC experience.” Klenakis was the offensive line coach from 2010-2012 at Arkansas. He is recruiting Hunter to come in and play guard, not tackle, for the Cards.

As far as a timetable on when he plans to decide between the schools, Hunter says that will happen sometime in the fall after he has made his visits. He is entering his second year as a JUCO player so he will have two years plus a redshirt year wherever he goes.

Random notes about Khalil Hunter:

On gamedays he likes to listen to Lana del Rey, Young Thug, and Adele….Adele?? “Haha Adele “Set Fire to the Rain”, it’s relaxing and I’ve been listening to it before games since high school,” Hunter noted.

Before games he prays by himself and listens to music. Adele apparently.

His favorite pro teams are the Baltimore Ravens and New York Knicks.
