This is a very busy weekend in UofL athletics, which is always a good thing. A top ranked team in the country will be visiting a UofL team on Saturday. It’s time to get you caught up on all of the “other” sports and what they have going on this weekend. This is your one-stop shop to stay updated on the Cards. If you want to read more details on press releases, those are provided. If you just want a quick glimpse of the record of the teams, that is just fine too.
*The #9 ranked men’s soccer team (2-1-1, 1-0-0) will face Boston College on the road in an ACC match on Friday at 7:00 pm ET.
*The #14 ranked field hockey team (5-1, 0-1) will host #1 ranked North Carolina (5-1, 1-0) on Saturday at Trager Stadium. The matchup starts at 1 pm ET and admission is free as always.
*The volleyball team (5-4) will be in Houston this weekend for the Rice Invitational. On Friday, they play Stephen F. Austin at 1:30 pm ET and then play Rice at 8:00 pm ET. On Saturday they play Texas Southern at 11:30 am ET.
*The women’s soccer team (3-4-0) will host Syracuse in their ACC opener on Friday night. The match is at Lynn Stadium and starts at 7:30 pm ET.
*The men’s tennis team has a pretty busy weekend. On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, they will compete in the Virginia Ranked Plus One Invitational in Charlottesville, Virginia. The Cards did well at the Duke Fab Four Invitational last weekend.
*The men’s golf team will compete in the ACC/SEC Challenge in Nashville, Tennessee all weekend. Always good if you can knock off the SEC in anything.
*The rowing team has a scrimmage on Saturday in Bloomington against the Indiana Hoosiers. The Cards are coming off of a great 2013-14 season in which they advanced to the NCAA Championship and won their first conference title.
Good luck to all UofL teams this weekend. Go Cards!
