Some disappointing news broke late on Sunday night regarding a UofL football player. Terrence Ross, a redshirt sophomore from Apopka, Florida, was arrested on drug an assault charges and has been suspended from the team.
From Courier-Journal.com:
Ross, a redshirt freshman who played in three games this season, was charged with felony assault of a probation or police officer and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct. He was booked with the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections just past 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
Louisville football Sports Information Director Rocco Gasparro said “The football program is aware of the situation and is continuing to gather information. Terrence Ross has been suspended and the matter will continue to be evaluated.”
With the departures of Gerod Holliman and James Sample, Ross was expected to compete for playing time in the defensive backfield for the Cards in 2015. Now we will wait and see if this is just a suspension, or if Ross will remain on the team.
