55 Season 2 Episode 17

This week on 55…..

We are going to do things a little different. I have a little experiment I am partaking in tonight in the realm of podcasting. If it goes well then you will be seeing myself and the fine people of CSZ in the world of podcasting sooner than later. That is exciting for us as we always look to evolve as a site and expand into new things. I will show you a tweet later of someone else who needs to evolve. So needless to say I am going to give you a quicker wrap-up than normal so I can take care of business. Without further adieu, here are the most ridiculous, outlandish, interesting or just downright obnoxious things I have heard this week. THIS is 55…..

This tweet to me earlier was so bad it was great.

(warning: moronic content may appear)

Umm….I just don’t know what to say. According to you, only people with half of a brain hate Louisville? Gotcha.

I really never have to even defend myself. Thanks Lisa!

-When is the Spring Game this year? Find out from Justin here

-It was announced today that 22 of @UofLBaseball games this season will be Nationally televised. 2 on ESPNU, 18 on ESPN3 and 2 on RSS (Like Fox Sports South) Huge news for a program on the rise looking for more exposure.

-The Cards remained at 8 and 9 respectively in the Coaches and AP polls for Men’s Basketball. Had to be because of the strong showing Saturday night and the lack of depth in NCAA BBall this year.

-The UofL Womens Basketball team dropped 1 spot to 9th this week after their contest on Big Monday last week.

-Not gonna give Keith O the satisfaction of googling himself and pulling up my article. Go away…

-An imbecilic uk fan stopped Montrezl Harrell and asked for a picture then took it with a derogatory hand gesture where Trezl couldn’t see it. I won’t repost here but you can find it on Twitter.

Time to catch you up on this week in Cardinal Athletics….

Men’s Basketball:

NCAA Basketball: Louisville at Miami

The Cards split their games this week going 1-1. They won their first game @ Miami 63-55. Terry Rozier once again led the Cards in scoring with 22. He also added 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Monrezl had 18 points & 9 rebounds. Chris Jones scored 16 points, had 8 rebounds, 6 steals and added 5 assists. Wayne Blackshear 7 points and 2 rebounds. That started a 2 game skid of games where only 4 people score. That and scoring droughts killed us in the second game this week. We traveled to #3 Virginia and despite a nearly 11 scoring drought in the first half, the Cards fell 52-47. The droughts have killed us in each of our 4 losses. Against Virgnia, Terry Rozier scored 16 points and had 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Chris Jones added 11 points and 5 rebounds. Montrezl Harrell had 12 points and 6 rebounds. Wayne B was the lone remaining scorer with 8 points and 7 boards. The Card next host Pitt Wednesday night at 8 before battling NCST Saturday at 4 at the YUM!
