55 (Season 2 Episode 23)

55

This week on 55…..

We close in on the season finale of 55. We talk about Elite 8’s, departures and Villains. The men’s Tennis team jumps into the top 25. JamFest and McDonald’s All-American games are this week. What will I do this summer? Find out today! Steve needed a hug on the Podcast today and me and Justin tried our best to console him. Rebuild or Reload? Hmm. All of this and more……….

Without further adieu, here are the most ridiculous, outlandish, interesting or just downright obnoxious things I have heard this week. THIS is 55…..

The University of Louisville’s Men’s Basketball team defeated #9 Northern Iowa to advance to the Elite 8 against Michigan State. I am gonna cut to the chase. We lost by 6, Wayne had an amazing night going for 28 points and 12-12 from the free throw line. He could have went for 40 honestly but had some bad bounces and calls against him. I will miss Wayne and Trezz and Terry and wish you guys the best of luck. I know I am not saying much but I have had a day to get over it and I am very proud that this team had a great season. A season that was expected. We started out pre-season #7 or 8 and will probably finish at 8. Great year and now it is time to not rebuild but reload.

-Trez and Terry are gone. We wish you two the very best. Go make that money and take care of your families young men. (read more here)

-Anton Gill is also leaving but will be transferring away (Full story here). I always have liked Gill and wish him the very best of luck. I feel he won’t be the only one leaving as I expect Shaq to leave too and a possible third guy.

-Tonight at 6:30 on ESPN2 Asia Durr and Taja Cole will participate in the PowerAde Jamfest. On April 1st at 5:30 on ESPNU Durr, Cole & Sam Fuehring will all play in the McDonald’s All-American game.

-Time to catch you up on this week in Cardinal Athletics….

Women’s Basketball: (27-7) #8 @UofLWBB

The Cards Beat host USF on Monday 60-52 guaranteeing the Cards 3rd straight sweet 16 (That’s just what we do!). Jude Schimmel  scored 13 points, Myisha Hines-Allen added 12. This brought us to the Sweet 16 match-up vs upstart Dayton. Winner would get to be dominated by UConn. I kid. We must have been looking forward to that game because we got punished 82-66. Dayton went on multiple 13-0 runs and put us away. Great Senior class and great experience for our Freshman. Also, watch out for the 2015 Freshmen…We will get our title within 4 years (BOOK IT). We did have a great season though so keep your heads up girls….
