We have learned many things after the Cards OT loss to Michigan State on Sunday, but most of all we have learned the Louisville basketball team will look much different next season. After already signing three (Ryan McMahon is the 4th and hasn’t signed just yet) in the 2015 class (likely top 5) Louisville has one scholarship open that belonged to Akoy Agau. But today Rick Pitino let us know that two, maybe even three more could come open. Shortly after Pitino’s end of season press conference we found out that Anton Gill would be transferring from the program. So for those keeping up at home, we are up to two scholarships and I don’t believe we are done.
So now raises the big question: Who is going to fill these spots? Many things will play into who the Cards go after (How many spots do we have? Will some of these kids even leave?) and while I’m not ready to put a “Most likely” tag on anyone let’s take a look.
Trey Lewis (Graduate Transfer)
PG/SG 6’2 180 lbs
Yes for those asking, the same Trey Lewis that dropped a cool 24 points 5 rebounds and 2 steals in the Yum Center on the Cards this season. Lewis is an excellent player that averaged 16 points a game, shooting 42% from behind the 3 point line. Lewis hit 96 of 227 three pointers this season. Lewis announced today he would be leaving the CSU program and yes the Cards have already been in contact. I would be shocked if Lewis isn’t in a Louisville uniform next season.
Mychal Mulder (JUCO)
SG 6’4 184 lbs
Louisville has been quietly speaking with Mulder for awhile now. Mulder led his Vincennes team to one of the best records in the JUCO ranks. Mulder averaged 15 points a game, shooting 44% from three while hitting 88 of 197 this season. Mulder isn’t just a shooter however, averaging nearly 7 rebounds a game behind some freak athleticism which you will see in the video below. Mulder is on the Louisville campus today according to multiple sources.

Damion Lee (Graduate Transfer)
PG/SG 6’6 200 lbs
Lee also announced he would be leaving his current home at Drexel and would play at another school in the fall. Lee averaged 21 points a game shooting 88% from the free throw line. Haven’t heard much on this front but you have to imagine the Cards give Lee a call.
John Brown (Graduate Transfer)
SF 6’7 200 lbs
At this point, Brown has said he will stay at High Point next season but you know how that goes. Brown is an absolute STUD. Would love to see the Cards land him but we will wait and see just how things go.
Tyler Harvey (Graduate Transfer)
SG 6’4 185 lbs
Most of you got to see Harvey put on a show in the NCAA tournament this season as he did all year. Harvey led the NCAA in scoring this year and may (outside of Lewis) be the best overall player on this list. The question with Harvey, like Brown, will be if he will even leave Eastern Washington. All has been quiet on this front but if Harvey chooses to leave, look for the Cards along with MANY others to be in the mix.
Maverick Rowan (2016 Recruit)
SG/SF 6’7 200 lbs
Rowan is a member of the 2016 recruiting class as things stand now, but there is talk of a move to 2015. Aside from having one of the great names of all time, Maverick can absolutely light up the score board. Scout.com’s Evan Daniels said as of now it sounds like Rowan will stay in 2016 but multiple sources say there is still a chance. Regardless of what class Rowan is in, I expect him to be a Card.
These aren’t the only names out there but I would bet at least two or three of these players will be playing for Louisville next season. We will have more information as more comes out here on CardinalSportsZone.com.
