Yes, the 2013 version. It is 11:30 p.m. on a Tuesday night and I am sitting here grinning ear to ear after I just watched this video (thanks Kim Pemberton for posting it on Facebook). It has been quite some time since I have watched it that it felt like the first time all over again.
Which reminded me, I was fortunate enough to watch this inside the Georgia Dome after the Cards cut down the nets. It was so surreal. Louisville had just won their first National Championship since I was born. I was born in May of 1986, juuuust after the previous title had been won. But I was in the crowd for this one. Nothing was stopping me from going.
I had watched one other “One Shining Moment” video in person, and that was in 2005 when I was lucky enough to be at the National Championship between UNC and Illinois in St. Louis. But this one was better. We won this time.
I feel like another title is coming soon for Rick Pitino and the Cards. But in reality, it may not. We don’t know. But no one can ever take away the Championship in 2013 and the fact that I was there and got to experience it with my wife, mother, and friends.
So if you feel like going back in time a little bit, go ahead. I just had a blast doing it. So much so that rather than just watching the video, I felt the need to write a little bit about it.
