There is never much downtime in the world of UofL sports, and as a fan, you have to love that. There is always something going on. Even if you are just a fan of football and basketball, there is still news in those sports these days. And if you are just a casual fan of all University of Louisville sports, this is the place for you. A quick summary of what is going on in all sports.

If you want to go more in depth and read details about certain stories, there are some press releases that will be linked here for you to do that. If not, you certainly don’t have to. You may not need a play-by-play of how the softball team did in their last game, but you are just curious what their record is and who they play next. That is what this is for. Here is your update in Louisville sports on Wednesday morning.

*Top Plays – To get you started, here are the top 5 plays from the Month of March.

*Men’s Basketball – The Cards just may be a little better than expected next season with the news that Trey Lewis will be transferring in from Cleveland State. He led them in scoring this past year and made 96 three pointers on the season. To put that in perspective, Wayne Blackshear led UofL this past season with 60.

Recently there have been videos made for both Wayne Blackshear and Montrezl Harrell.

*Football – The football team began their third week of spring practice on Tuesday afternoon. Afterwards, Offensive Coordinator Garrick McGee met with the media to talk about practice so far and gave an update on the quarterback race. They will hit the practice field again this afternoon. All spring practices are open to the public.

*Baseball – The baseball team is on a roll right now. Over the weekend, they went to Virginia for a top 10 series against the Cavaliers and left town with the sweep! The Cards are now ranked 5th in the country and are 25-7 on the season. They have won 7 games in a row and 14 of their last 15. Sophomore outfielder Corey Ray was named ACC Player of the Week.

Next up is the Battle of the Bluegrass as Louisville hosts Kentucky on Wednesday night at Jim Patterson Stadium. The game starts at 6:00 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN3 and heard on 93.3 The Ville.

Here are the updated ACC Baseball standings.

*Swimming and Diving – The Cards have certainly made a splash (sorry) in their first year of ACC competition. Kelsi Worrell was just named the Women’s Swimmer of the Year in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Not too bad. All she has been doing lately is setting records, and then breaking them again.

*Softball – The softball team (22-12, 11-4) will step out of conference play and face DePaul today in a doubleheader. DePaul is 12-16 so hopefully the Cards can get back on track and win two today. They return home this weekend for a 3 game series against Florida State, who is currently in 1st place in the ACC and ranked 8th in the country in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll.
