Never a dull moment, huh? It looks like the last big name that Louisville fans have been keeping an eye on, Maverick Rowan, is enrolled in the summer classes that will allow him to graduate and re-classify to the class of 2015.
Rowan is a 4-star small forward on all four major recruiting sites. He is listed at 6’7 and is from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Evan Daniels of Scout.com has more on Rowan:
On Sunday, Rowan confirmed those rumors and told Scout that he was currently enrolled in summer classes with the intentions of reclassifying up from the 2016 class to 2015.
Rowan, who has taken one official visit to Louisville, will take his second official visit to St. John’s on Monday. Rowan’s father — Ron — played at St. John’s. After that visit, Rowan will head directly to Los Angeles to participate in the Nike Skills Academy.
“We haven’t scheduled any others right now,” Rowan told Scout. “We are still cutting things down.”
Rowan said that he is down to four schools, but would not name them. We are probably safe in assuming that Louisville is one of the four, along with St. John’s since he is visiting on Monday. The other two would likely come from his list that included North Carolina, NC State, UCLA, and Wisconsin.
Rowan looks to make his decision near the end of the summer, which will be here before we know it.
His crystal ball on 247 Sports has Louisville at 71% and St. John’s at 29%. The Cards still have one open scholarship for the 2015 class. There is no denying that Maverick Rowan would be a great addition to the class for Louisville. We will patiently wait and see what happens with this one.
