Something that has appeared to be lost on some folks during Louisville’s 0-3 start is that James Quick, easily the most experienced returning wide receiver this season, has missed two full games and the end of the Auburn game. Although the freshmen receivers have been making plays, Quick’s experience has been missed. The Cards may get the junior back for this Saturday’s game against Samford.

The following exchange is from Wednesday’s ACC teleconference:

BOBBY PETRINO: So with him out, it’s been just kind of young guys out there working hard, and they are doing that, we just haven’t been consistent enough. But James hopefully will be back. He practiced yesterday. He looked good in practice. He actually got probably three quarters of the work in and woke up this morning and felt good.

Q. So is it possible he could play this Saturday?

BOBBY PETRINO: Yes, there is a good possibility.

Getting Quick back now would be huge for Louisville. He needs to knock off any rust against Samford to get ready for some crucial ACC games.
