The Lady Cards opened the season with nine straight games away from home, going 6-3. Today they returned home to Ulmer stadium to host the Red & Black Softball Classic. It started with an opening game at 1:00 vs. Cleveland State an a 3:00 vs. Kent State. They play Saturday (2/27) at 1:00 vs. Cleveland State and again at 3:00 vs. North Dakota State. They also have a Sunday (2/28) home game vs. Kent State. On Wednesday (3/2) the Cards head to Nashville to take on Lipscomb University before they open up ACC play vs. Georgia Tech on 3/5 and 3/6 at Ulmer Stadium.
Louisville won the first game 9-5 behind last weeks ACC co-pitcher of the week, Megan Hensley. She got the win (5-1) and had a career high 8 strikeouts. She also hit her 3rd home run of the season.
Cards lose the second game 13-9. Cards threatened in the bottom of the 7th with runners on the corners and no outs.
