Red-White Scrimmage Photo Gallery

Last night was a return to normalcy for cardinal Basketball and fans alike. With an expected attendance of 4,000 fans, once again we did not let them down. About 7,000 people showed up to watch the first Red-White Scrimmage of the season. Coach Padgett was very appreciative. “The ovation I received at the beginning of the scrimmage was extremely humbling” he said at the post game presser. The pre-game intros were high energy as you could tell Card Nation was ready to put the past in the past. The actual game was very entertaining highlighted by a pair of dunks on Anas, one by Deng & one by Jo Griffin. Oof. The Red team pulled away with a 94-80 victory over the white team despite the efforts of Gerald cheering the Red team on. For the Red team Deng Adel went for 32 points and 13 rebounds and Ray added 22 points and 16 boards of his own. “If Deng, Ray, Malik and that Frontcourt can rebound like that during the regular season, we are gonna be in good shape” said Padgett. For the White team VJ scored 30 but turned the ball over an uncharacteristic 9 times. Malik had 17 rebounds and Jordan Nwora added 18 points off of 50% shooting including 4-6 from 3 pt land. Overall it was a great night and you can tell that this is a high energy group who can score. Buckle up CardNation, it’s gonna be a fun ride this season. We need and deserve a fun one too. Oh yeah, Jeff Nunn took a lot of great pics, check them out!
