The Louisville Men’s Basketball team were caught in a dogfight late in the second half against Albany on Wednesday night. The Cards led for most of the game, but Albany fought their way back and had a lead in the final minutes of the game. The Cards ended up pulling out a 70-68 victory, thanks to a late three-pointer by Ryan McMahon and a free throw by Darius Perry.
Louisville was beaten down on the boards by Albany. The Cards were out rebounded 37-52 and they gave up 21 offensive rebounds. Meanwhile, Louisville only had 7 offensive rebounds and 0 second chance points. On the positive side, Louisville limited their turnovers to 7 and had 10 blocks as a team.
The Cards were led by Quentin Snider, who had 19 points and Ryan McMahon who had 15 points. Anas Mahmoud had 9 blocks to go along with his 9 points and 7 rebounds. Ray Spalding struggled with foul trouble and never really got into a rhythm. However, Ray hit a hook shot late in the clock and had a deflection that gave the ball back to the Cards.
Louisville will be back in action this Saturday at 1:00 PM at the KFC Yum! Center. They will be facing a Grand Canyon team that gave them a very competitive game last year.
