There are many things to work on. Defense, rebounding, and shooting percentage are glaring problems that need fixing, but it was only the first game, after all. The offensive scheme did look solid at times, especially when Steven Enoch was the focal point. Look for the Cards to focus more on getting Steven Enoch and Malik Williams the ball because the big men proved to be viable options around the basket.
Louisville was led by Steven Enoch with 17 points (3-4 FG, 11-11 FT) and 8 rebounds. Darius Perry added 14 points of his own. Jordan Nwora didn’t get the start tonight, but finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds and 2 steals.
Louisville won this game in a sloppy way against an inferior opponent. It was only the first game and the Cards got the win so no need to read into things too much. A new era of basketball is here and it started with a victory and that’s enough reason to be excited.
