Basketball recruiting is starting to pick up, with numerous visits scheduled throughout September and into October. However, a legacy recruit, the son of a former Louisville legend, is set to visit UofL unofficially today.

As reported by 247sports Evan Daniels and Stockrisers’ and UofL Rivals’ Jake Weingarten, JJ Traynor, the son of former UofL star and Louisville native Jason Osborne, will visit UofL unofficially today.
Traynor, a member of the 2020 class, is a 6’8 195 lbs PF that plays for Bardstown High School in Bardstown, KY. Currently, 247sports has Traynor rated a 4 Star prospect, the number 12 PF in the class, and the number 1 player in the state of KY. He currently holds offers from Depaul, Western Kentucky, Evansville, and Northern Kentucky. As of now, Traynor doesn’t hold an offer from UofL, but I wouldn’t doubt that that may likely change soon, possibly during his visit today.
Traynor is a versatile 6’8 PF that is long and athletic. He is a shot blocking rim protector defensively and offensively he has nice touch around the basket and enjoys cramming dunks. One thing that really stands out is his hustle and his ability to run the floor. He covers a lot of ground.
This is a player to keep an eye on. He has risen quickly in the rankings, jumping into the top 100 at number 76 on 247sports. UofL isn’t the only one showing interest as UK and Cincinnati are showing interest as well. Will JJ Traynor follow in his father’s footsteps or will he chose a different path? Only time will tell.
