Atwell became a fan favorite for the fan base. A native of Miami, Atwell was a QB from the same high school as Louisville Legend Teddy Bridgewater. When he arrived at UofL, he became a slot receiver. Unfortunately, he had to endure the horrendous 2018 season. However, Tutu persevered and in 2019, he became one of the catalysts for the team turnaround from 2–10 to 8-5.

Atwell’s 2019 season was one of the absolute best in school history. He hauled in 70 receptions for a whopping 1276 yards and 12 receiving TDs. He also managed a passing TD. Tutu’s 1276 receiving yards set the school record for receiving yards in a season and his 12 TDs tied the school record for TD receptions in a season.

In 2020, despite a pandemic and an injury that kept him from playing in a game, Tutu still put up excellent numbers. In just 9 games, he had 46 receptions for 625 yards and 7 receiving TDs. He also had a rushing TD as well.

Tutu Atwell will go down as one of the greatest wideouts to ever suit up for the Ville. In his three season, he recorded 140 receptions for 2307 yards and 21 TDs. Fans will remember watching him take pop passes for massive gains and running post routes that left defenders in the dust. The speed and grace with which he played undoubtedly earned him the respect and admiration of the fan base, the coaches, and the college football universe.

Tutu Atwell followed in the footsteps of his mentor and fellow Miami Northwestern alum Teddy Bridgewater by coming to Louisville. While Teddy built his legacy as one of the best QBs in school history, Tutu was destined for a different path. However, he ended up in the same place Teddy did. Tutu Atwell will hold a special place in every Louisville fan’s heart as a legendary wide receiver and a legendary person.

We here at CSZ wish Tutu all the best and look forward to seeing him continue to build his football legacy in the NFL. I know we will all watch with great anticipation to see him come on the screen and say, “Tutu Atwell: University of Louisville. Go Cards.”
