Former Louisville guard Carlik Jones has been invited to the 2021 NBA Draft Combine following a standout performance this past week at the G-League Elite Camp in Chicago.
Just got that call‼️‼️ #NBACombine

The Elite Camp gives 40 non-Combine invites the chance to perform in five-on-five games and different strength and agility drills similar to those at the NBA Combine. Each year, a handful of performers gain an invitation to the NBA Draft Combine.
Jones particularly received quite a bit of praise online after his performance in the five-on-five portion of the Elite Camp.

19 point 1st half for Carlik Jones. Already exceeded the game-high from game one. Hit a deep pullup 3 to punish the under but mostly living in the paint with tough finishes through contact at the rim. Showing some vision out of PNR as well. Best player on the floor in either game https://t.co/8lf3gEyR03

Couple texts saying @carlikjones was the best player on the floor at the #GLeague combine. It would probably be easier if you told me when he wasn’t. Keep it up Lik!!

Well deserved promotion to the NBA Combine for Carlik Jones. Thought his performance on Sunday was the best of anyone at the event. https://t.co/IkThwflLXs

Jones joins his former Lousiville teammate David Johnson at the Draft Combine, which is already underway and will conclude on June 27.
The Draft Combine allows roughly 70 prospects to compete in five-on-five in addition to various strength and agility drills. Invitees also have the opportunity to participate in individual workouts and teams are able to conduct interviews with participants.
Carlik opted out of his final year of college eligibility at Louisville to pursue his dream of reaching the NBA. It is probably safe to say that he has made a good impression so far during the process, and this next week presents an even larger opportunity to improve his stock.
The 2021 NBA Draft will be held on Thursday, July 29 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
