Malik Cunningham Named To Davey O’Brien Class Of 2021

UofL quarterback Malik Cunningham has had a very good year. He’s one of the top quarterbacks in the ACC and the nation. Because of this, Cunningham was named to the Davey O’Brien QB Class of 2021. This makes him eligible to be voted one of the 16 semifinalists for the Davey O’Brien Award.

Cunningham is having his best season thus far as a Card. It has definitely surpassed his breakout 2019 campaign. He has passed for 1684 yards and ran for 480 yards, while amassing a total of 21 TDs (8 passing and 13 rushing). He has scored multiple rushing TDs in 6 out of the 7 games this season, with a season-high 3 rushing TDs against Boston College.

The semifinalists will be voted on by a combination of fan voting and the National Selection Committee vote. The fan voting will begin today on select social media platforms (see tweet above for fan voting).
