Coach Walz: “Ramani is a face-up forward with guard skills. She can step out, shoots the 3, can block shots.”

Breakdown: An excellent stretch four, Parker runs the floor like a gazelle. Parker’s ability to shoot the three is a huge plus to her game, being that she’s 6’4 and most post players want to leave the painted area. Ramani is a long and fluid athlete who is a major defensive presence in the paint. Whether Parker is the on-ball defender or the help side defender, she is a great shot blocker. Ramani is a long, athletic player, with incredible length and leaping ability. Parker uses her length and athleticism to be a huge factor on the glass.

My Take: Parker appeared in 17 games last season and averaged just under 7 mpg. Playing behind two very talented post players in Olivia Cochran and Liz Dixon made it tough to get a lot of playing time, but Parker always makes the most of her time on the court. Parker is going to continue to see spot duty (at the 4 & 5) a lot this year, barring any injury to the two ahead of her. I still believe that Card Nation will see glimpses of a more athletic Kylee Shook mixed with some Sara Hammond.
