The University of Louisville football team secured bowl eligibility on Thursday night after blowing past Duke 62-22. Much like the contest against Syracuse last weekend, this one was essentially out of reach at halftime.

Having reportedly dealt with an illness all evening, quarterback Malik Cunningham was nothing short of spectacular; the Cardinal star completed 18 of 25 passes for 303 yards and five touchdowns, while rushing for 224 yards and two more scores. Five different receivers found the end zone at Wallace Wade Stadium against one of the worst defenses in the country.

The Cardinals raced out to a 35-9 halftime lead after scoring on all but one drive in the first two quarters. The Blue Devils showed signs of life in the second half after putting true freshman Riley Leonard in at quarterback, but it was too little too late. Duke falls to 3-8 on the season, and 0-7 in conference play.

Marshon Ford, Trevion Cooley, Dez Melton, Ahmari Huggins-Bruce, and Tyler Harrell all topped 35 yards receiving, individually. Overall, Louisville moves to 6-5 on the year and looks to snap a two-game losing streak to Kentucky in the season finale next Saturday.
