Louisville Volleyball Begins Run Back To The Final Four In The Pittsburgh Quarter

On Sunday evening, the Louisville Volleyball learned of the journey ahead of them when the NCAA Tournament bracket was revealed. The Cardinals landed as the two-seed in the Pittsburgh Quarter (#5 overall); the obvious storyline is the newly-formed rivalry with the Panthers and a possible elite-eight showdown between the two ACC powerhouses. The two teams have split the season series, both winning the matches on their home floors. With Louisville outlasting Pittsburgh in the Final Four last year, the stage is set for another electric matchup, should they faceoff.

The 24-4 Cardinals host Wright State at 7:00 PM on Thursday at the KFC YUM! Center. Despite it being in the first round, this will not be any easy matchup for Dani Busboom Kelly’s squad; Louisville defeated the Raiders in a highly-competitive four-set match back in August. A win would put them up against the winner of (7) Auburn & Western Michigan on Saturday.
