Football visitors list for 1-24-14

Bobby Petrino 2

Coach Petrino and his staff are hosting another group of recruits this weekend. These “official visit” weekends are huge for the staff since the coaching change and because National Signing Day is just a couple of weeks away. They have to lock down the guys who were committed to the previous staff as well as impress the targets. Here is the list of visitors this weekend for the Cards.

2014 Commits

Desean Blair Desean Blair– 4* wide receiver from Jacksonville, FL.   6’4   185 lbs

*According to our own post here, Blair said that Nebraska was his favorite after visiting them last weekend. However, after Coach Petrino visited his school this week, the Cards pulled even, making this weekend a big one for the Cards with Blair.

Michael Johnson Michael Johnson– 4* safety from Hialeah, FL.   6’2   190 lbs

Isaac Stewart Isaac Stewart– 3* linebacker from Matthews, NC.   6’1   230 lbs

Zykiesis Cannon Zykiesis Cannon– 3* defensive back from Greenville, SC.   5’11   181 lbs

Danny Burns Danny Burns– 3* offensive tackle from Fairfield, OH.   6’7   318 lbs

Shaq Jones Shaq Jones– 3* cornerback from Merritt Island, FL.   6’1   170 lbs

*Jones was the first commit for Bobby Petrino at Louisville in this class.

2014 Targets

George Rushing George Rushing– 3* wide receiver from Fort Lauderdale, FL.   6’0   182 lbs

*Rushing is a former Louisville commit. He backed off when Bobby Petrino was hired, but since meeting Coach Petrino in person, his interest is back. Don’t be surprised at all if Rushing ends up at Louisville when it’s all said and done.

Kelby Johnson Kelby Johnson– JUCO offensive tackle from Hyattsville, MD.   6’8   315 lbs

Grant Harris Grant Harris– 3* defensive end from Clinton, MS.   6’5   260 lbs

Trumaine Washington Trumaine Washington– 3* cornerback from Miami, FL.   5’9   175 lbs

And if this picture is any indication of how all the visits start out, then I am really jealous. (Pic by Marlon Mack last weekend)
