Summer Thoughts

So this has been one interesting summer. I have been swamped with work (a good thing) and we are now in the ACC! I am so excited about that part. The purgatory known as the AAC is over and now it is on to the next chapter of our greatness….the A-C-C

Louisville ACC

It’s so pretty….

Well let’s go over some things that have happened this summer. Teddy signed with the Vikings, Pryor with the Jets, Smith with the Eagles, Philon with the Steelers, Copeland with the Jags and Perry with the Bears. A pretty eventful summer for the former football Cards. We are all so very proud.

The Baseball team also had a crazy amount of signees to MLB teams. We definitely lost a ton of talent

Congrats to those guys as well…..

As we all know by now, Peyton was cut by the Pistons. Luke and Kyle are doing good in their performances but on the cusp of great. Speaking of great, Russdiculous has been proving the haters wrong and looks like he just flat-out belongs in a place nobody else believed that to be true. He is leading the league in assists. Gorgui is starting off his second season the way he ended his first…Fantastic. Gorgui pulled down 12 rebounds yesterday as a part of a double-double in a loss. For the full recap on how the Cards in the Summer league performed yesterday read Justin’s post here.

Are you all ready for some football? I know, stupid question…of course you are. The Cards kickoff in just 46 days. Amazing. Heres a quick look at the media guide from our friend the Social Media Director Nick Stover.

It’s almost time.

Moving forward…

Even the WNBA is being well represented by the Cards. Angel and Shoni were voted into the All-Star Game!

Good stuff. I love that all sports are well represented….

I came across this story on former card and probably the most successful professional basketball Cardinal over the past 10+ years, Alhaji Mohammed….It’s a powerful story written Justin Breen from dnainfo.com. Read here.

Shout out to my guys Greg and Brad who keep me entertained at work with all of the UofL talk. Much appreciated.

Here are a few things to watch for:

The AAU Nationals are in Louisville at the Expo Center. From July 22nd through the 28th the AAU National Championship will be determined. From July 23rd through July 26th the Super Gold Showcase will go on. We will get you more info on it soon. Louisville targets Antonio Blakeney and big man Ray Spalding will be in attendance. Possible commitment soon to go with 5* Deng Adel? Check and see what Steve and Justin thinks here.

ACC Football media day is this Sunday and Monday in Greensboro, North Carolina. Click on the following link to find all things Media day related including the schedule of who will be on and at what time.

Starting next week we are gonna catch up with former UL star Taquan Dean. He has been working very hard this off-season with the UL basketball team and individual instructor Tim Gray as he does every season. I have some pretty impressive and cool videos to share with you guys. I hope you enjoy.

Next season we are going to introduce a new feature where we will keep a closer eye on the Cards playing ball overseas. We feel like you guys should know what they are doing even after they leave here. Keep up with Preston and Edgar and Larry and more!

Last but not least I am delighted to announce that season 2 of the critically acclaimed series (and possibly shafted for an Emmy) 55 will return on Monday night August 25th. I know the whole world is anxiously awaiting that return. Ok maybe not the whole world but a large section. Ok maybe not a large section but a lot of people. lol. You can find last seasons episodes of 55 on the site by typing 55 in the search bar.

Well it has been good talking to you guys and getting my thoughts out since I have been swamped but I look forward to talking to you guys real soon.

Enjoy the rest of your summer…
