Redshirt freshman, Dez Fitzpatrick has been one of the bright spots this year. Earlier I wrote that I though he would have a few highlight reel catches and maybe a big game but he was still a year away with Jaylen Smith and Seth Dawkins in front of him. With both Smith and Dawkins battling minor injuries this season, Fitzpatrick has made the most of it. However, they way he played vs Purdue let everyone know that he was ready for big time college football right now. He has become a solid receiver and he is definitely the future.
Dez currently has 39 receptions for 610 yards and 7 touchdowns. Against N.C. State he accumulated 10 receptions for 134 yards. He followed that up with a 7 reception, 127 yard game against Boston College.
