CSZ Staff Predictions: Louisville vs Virginia

Jeremy Wahman

(4-1)

Louisville 30 – Virginia 27

Cards bounce back after a last minute loss to Wake. Defense has a score and holds Virginia to under 200 yards.

Jeff Nunn

(3-2)

Louisville 38 – Virginia 28

The 398.0 passing yards per game the Cavaliers average ranks them second in the FBS, while the 261.2 the Cardinals allow ranks them 112th in college football. Virginia’s offense ranks sixth in the FBS in yards per game (526.6). I just can’t ignore the fact that UVA scored a total of 85 points against William and Mary and Illinois but only 17 against Wake at home. The Cards bend but don’t break D doesn’t break.

I think the crowd leads this team to victory. Louisville rolls on emotion.

Higgy

(4-1)

Louisville 31 – Virginia 21

Cards offense plays a complete game & defense bounces back. Cooley & Watkins are the difference makers.

Ben Gumbel

(4-1)

Virginia 40 – Louisville 33

Louisville’s defense faces another tough test at home this week. Unfortunately I think they fail again.

Dalton Pence

(3-2)

 Louisville 38 – Virginia 31.

Cards defense struggles to contain the Cavalier passing offense, but ultimately come out on top at home.

Jacob Pratt

(3-2)

Louisville 38 – Virginia 21

Cards return home and take out their frustrations from last week on the Cavaliers here. Malik once again has a great game with 4 TDs.

Sam Basden

(3-2)

Louisville 42 – Virginia 37

UVA’s passing attack will definitely test the secondary of Louisville. I look for Louisville to definitely show improvement on defense after the Wake Forest game. I think/hope/believe that CardNation is going to show out for this game. The Cards offense will continue to trend upward and the defense puts a stranglehold on Armstrong’s receivers. Louisville wins.

Mitch Motley

(4-1)

Louisville  31 – Virginia 30

Cards hold on late and earn a solid victory.

Shawn Barbour

(3-2)

Louisville 34 -Virginia 28

Offense continues to put a decent amount of points, defense improves after shaky performance against Wake. Home field advantage will be too much for UVA to overcome.

Hive

(3-1)

Louisville 35 – Virginia 24

Cards come back after a heartbreaking road loss to Wake. Yet again we get a 3+ TD day out of Malik and the defense is able to create more pressure in the backfield this week.

Katie Goben

(3-1)

Louisville  27 – Virginia 24

Cards come out hungry to avenge a loss they know they shouldn’t have had. They fix the mental mistakes and get the home victory.
