Yasir Abdullah, Louisville’s 5th-year senior linebacker, was selected in the 5th Round of the 2023 NFL Draft with the 136th-overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Abdullah, a 1st Team All-ACC selection and runner up for ACC DPOY, recorded 63 Tackles, 14.5 Tackles for Loss, 9.5 Sacks, and managed 2 interceptions in 2022. He also had 4 forced fumbles. Yasir’s impressive statline and quality combine performance (4.47 40 time, 1.56 split time) allowed for him to join YaYa Diaby and Kei’Trel Clark as draft selections.
Abdullah will leave the University of Louisville as a 2-time All-ACC selection (2021 2nd Team, 2022 1st Team). He also ranked 1st in career games played (61), 8th in career sacks (23.5), and 2nd in career tackles for loss (43).
