Missouri G Courtney Ramey, one of the highest rated unsigned players left in the 2018 class, is scheduled to make a visit to the University of Louisville today.
UofL 2019 QB commit Jaden Johnson has been invited to participate in Under Armour’s All-America Football Camp in Chicago, IL.
The camp, per Jaden Johnson’s tweet above, will be on May 6th from 8 am to 2:30 pm.
It was about a week ago that UofL Head Coach Chris Mack announced that UofL was no longer recruiting 2018 4 Star PG and former UofL commit Courtney Ramey.
Many UofL media and fans were caught off guard that Mack mentioned a recruit by name and thought that definitively ended UofL’s pursuit of Ramey.
UofL Football picked up another commitment from an in-state recruit tonight in Jack Randolph from Franklin-Simpson High School in Franklin, KY.
Randolph, a 6’3 290 lbs OT chose UofL over offers from Cincinnati, EKU, Georgia State, Morehead State, and Middle Tennessee State. He also had interest from Purdue, Vanderbilt, and WKU. UofL’s primary recruiter for Randolph was Offensive Line Coach and Co-offensive Coordinator Mike Summers per 247sports.com.
UofL held its annual football spring game last night and afterwards Coach Bobby Petrino, red shirt sophomore QB Jawon Pass, and red shirt sophomore WR Dez Fitzpatrick gave some of their thoughts on the game.
Former UofL player, fan favorite, and current Atlanta Hawk Damion Lee joined Marques Maybin and Steve Rummage on Middays with Marques Maybin on Friday.
He discussed a myriad of topics with Marques and Steve, offering a lot of honest insight. Some of the topics discussed were his recruiting process as a grad transfer, his time at UofL, his time in the G League, his NBA call up, UofL’s future with Chris Mack, among other topics. Donovan Mitchell continues to wow everyone with his amazing rookie year with the Utah Jazz. Tonight, he just broke a record previously owned by a talented guard by the name of Damian Lillard.
Donovan now owns the record for most made 3 pointers by a rookie at 186. He still has the potential to add to the record before the regular season concludes. Here is a video of the record-breaking shot.
Anas Mahmoud recently sat down with KingFut, a website that covers Egyptian athletes from all over the world. Malek Shafel and Anas talked about everything from when he started playing basketball, how the recruiting process went and what is next for him. Anas did say that he plans on giving his best effort to the draft process this summer and he has signed with Leon Rose from CAA as his agent. His main goal still remains to graduate in May. Donovan Mitchell continues to have break out game, after break out game. He has made his mark on the NBA and won over the hearts of Jazz fans in just a few short months. Last night marked another milestone in his early career, Donovan Mitchell has posted 20+ points in each of his last 10 games, marking the longest 20-point streak by a rookie in Jazz history. After last week’s introductory press conference of Chris Mack, Jordan Nwora told the media that he wanted to stay at the University of Louisville. He just needed to talk to Coach Mack by himself and have Coach Mack talk to his parents. He wanted to start building that trust. After things have started to settle down, Jordan’s dad did confirm that he will return next season. According to Jeff Greer, Jordan Nwora reached double digits in scoring 9 times this season, that is a number that is sure to increase next season as he will more than likely become a key player on the UofL roster.
UofL Junior F Ray Spalding announced via his Instagram account that he will hire an agent and remain in the NBA Draft.
The Trinity High School product had a productive 3 years at his hometown university with his best year being this year. Spalding averaged 12.3 points a game and led the team in rebounding averaging 8.7 a game this season. He earned 2018 All-ACC Honorable Mention Team.
NFL analyst, Mike Mayock is self admittedly Lamar Jackson’s biggest fan. Mayock sat down with Lamar after his Pro Day at the University of Louisville and talked about everything that has happened in the last few months and what could happen in the next few.
Despite taking the NBA by storm, being a Rookie of the Year candidate, and winning the Slam Dunk Contest, Donovan Mitchell still intends on finishing his degree at UofL.

UofL Football is having their Pro Day on Thursday and according to UofL Football’s recruiting Twitter Account @UofLFBRecruiting, it will start at 10 am and the NFL Network will broadcast it.
The day before the NBA Dunk Contest, the Utah Jazz called and offered to pay for Darrell Griffith to come out and watch. While Dr. Dunkenstein couldn’t accept because it was so short notice, he was shocked to see that Donovan Mitchell was wearing his jersey during the contest. It made his evening. David Padgett was officially told that the University of Louisville will be going in a different direction with their coaching search. While this was expected, it does not mean it makes it easier to hear. David Padgett stepped up and did the absolute best he could with a situation that was nearly doomed from the start. David does mention that he will be looking for other head coaching positions moving forward and we here at Cardinal Sports Zone sincerely wish him the best in that search. The flooding in Louisville experienced during February will go down as some of the worst in Louisville history. Bobby Petrino announced last week that between the Petrino Family Foundation and his own personal help – they will be making a $100,000 donation to help the flooding victims. Yesterday, around 40 players went to help rake debris and hand out cleaning supplies to the victims as well. You can read the full story thanks to WDRB below.
