Cardinal Head

By Justin Renck:

It is a very busy weekend in UofL sports, which is always a great thing! Rather than throw the whole weekend schedule at you, we will focus on just today’s events.

*Men’s Tennis

The Cards are in Oxford, MS taking on NC St. in the first round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Kick-Off Regional. The match started at 9 a.m. this morning.

The 36th ranked Cards are the #2 seed in the Oxford Regional. The other two teams are 13th ranked Ole Miss and 44th ranked Columbia. The winner of this weekend’s regional will advance to the ITA National Men’s Team Indoor Championship which will be hosted next month by the University of Washington.

U of L enters the weekend with a 3-1 record. The 36th ranked Cards are coming off of a 4-1 loss at Northwestern. Prior to that, they had opened the season with three straight wins.
