This week on the nest we have a full house and we weren’t playing Cards. (Non pun intended) LJ, Jeremy, Paige, Matt and Krueger sat down and discussed the week in basketball for one. Nunn was posted up in the corner like a man possessed. Like a man who’d been cheated out of pizza & wasn’t gonna take it anymore. FSU, Pitt, Signing Day & LJ had a great question about sacrifice we all discussed. We are also pretty sure Nunn did not predict the leading scorer for NCST. Catch all of this & more on the Nest….
Tonight we took to Twitter to find out what everyone thought about the game & their outlook on the season going forward. You guys know what I think. When we are at full strength we still have one big problem. Droughts & situational shot selection. It has to change because we have the talent to go a long way if corrected. I also asked the contributors to give their thoughts. This is what they came up with.
First off, some of the Contributors thoughts:
@LJThaFiasc0-Encouraging to know that we almost won with 3 backup players and our best shooter going 2-10
@GeneralWasp-It’s still very optimistic. FSU is a damn good squad, we were without one of our more dynamic playmakers, and we only lost by 5. My concern is that the last few games, we’ve struggling in the first 5-10 minutes of the game. We can come back against Clemson. We can’t do that against FSU
@PaigeS_502– I think this team is poised for a great run in March. Q being hurt gives his backups good minutes for practice which will come in handy in the tournament.
@KruegerMania-About what I expected. The Q injury blows but I think Louisville will be fine until he returns, as long as they can run their offense. Defense is fine.
@UofLNunn– Can’t complain about the record when you take into consideration the strength of schedule. I still believe this is a final 4 team.
Now CardNation speaks:
On this episode we recap the Duke win and also look at what the next few games are going to be like without Quentin Snider. We discuss the addition of Mike Summers and what it means to Lousiville Football going forward. The crew talks about which player(s) they are excited to see for football next year. Also, we vent, and I yell at Krueger. All that and more on this episode.
On this weeks episode of the Nest Paige takes a siesta to watch the Women’s Basketball team take on FSU. Have no fear, Matt McGavic is here. The latest addition to the podcast roster had a ton of hot takes. He joined LJ, myself, Jeff Nunn & Justin Krueger as we recapped Pitt, tried to sort out the DC swap, previewed Duke & put to rest the year old notion that a hot dog is a sandwich. Tune in below!
Last night we recorded the inaugural episode of the Nest. The Nest will come to you whenever LJ feels like producing it. (His words) Myself & LJ got together one day because him & a few of the other contributors were wanting to come on the radio show and talk sports. We don’t normally have a ton of extra time plus the other contributors didn’t have enough experience. I suggested for him to host a CSZ affiliated podcast since he had experience. The rest is history. He suggested a few people to be on the inaugural edition, I said yes to everyone but Nunn. He invited him anyways. We hope you enjoy The Nest and be patient because LJ is very bossy in the studio and mutes Krueger (rightfully so) multiple times. In our first episode we talk the Basketball rivalry. LJ, Paige, Justin & Jeff tell you about their first memories, who they think need to step up, their X-factor, MVP’s and much more! Give it a listen, you won’t be disappointed!
Football is so close we can almost taste it. 17 days away and we know you all are as ready as we are to talk Football and have a good time with the rest of CardNation. That’s why we did what we did. Here is a little taste of what you can expect:
Here is video from today’s presser with UofL Baseball Head Coach Dan McDonnell. The video was shot by CSZ correspondent Justin Krueger.
This afternoon we published bios and introduced you all to CSZNation’s Contributors. Instead of tweeting them out individually again I figured you could just check them out in one post. I shot them out earlier in UofL Football signing day style. It was a popular thing as I had people texting me who’s next? We have seasoned vets, people we added back in December and a few diamonds in the rough I picked up this week. All in all we feel like we have put together a formidable cast of contributors who will keep you all informed on all things UofL. We hope that we make you guys proud. Without further adieu, Here are CSZ’s contributors!
If you want to listen to the LiveWith55 podcast do the following:
Here is the Tweetcap for tonight’s episode of LiveWith55! The question of the night was: Name your top 5 Defensive Backs of all time at the University of Louisville. Here are some responses!
This week on 55………….
Time to take a deep breath in and out. This week on 55 I had planned to do a Teddy’s top play version of 55 seeing that he declared and we thought for sure that he was the only guy we would have to mourn this week. Clearly we were wrong. It’s OK though, don’t fret, I have decided to dedicate half to Teddy and half to all the people we have said “He Gone” to this week. When I first started saying “He Gone” it was as a harmless little joke. It has since taken a bigger spotlight in the past 10 days and I will pay homage to that. So once again I share with you the 55 most ridiculous things I have heard, had to debate, or just thought about this past week.
1) Teddy Bridgewater declared for the NFL draft on Jan 1st. Teddy is projected to be the #1 pick in the NFL Draft and will be sorely missed
2) We thought we will be ok without Teddy, Coach and Will can get us through this rough time
5) Calvin Pryor declared for the NFL Draft last Monday. He is one of the hardest hitting guys I have ever seen here. He is projected to go late first, early second round in some publications. Congrats CP3
8) Damian Copeland bypassed his 6th year of eligibility to go pro on Jan 2. I do not see any projections with him in it, but he is a consummate pro talent-wise and I do expect him to be playing on Sundays.
11) Let’s go to basketball for our He Gone-a-thon for a moment. Chane Behanan was booted off the team for conduct detrimental to the team and is currently in Houston getting help and rehab from renowned basketball figure John Lucas. Chane, we at CardinalSportsZone.com as well as all of CardNation wish you the very best.
