Louisville accepts bid for Russell Athletic Bowl

Russell Athletic Bowl

It is finally official: the Louisville Cardinals will play in the Russell Athletic Bowl in Orlando, FL on December 28. For the last few weeks, it had been the likely destination unless UCF were to slip up. The more they escaped their close games, the more likely that Orlando looked like the spot for the Cards to land.

This game will pit the Cards against an opponent from the ACC, but we do not know who just yet. The reps for the Russell Athletic Bowl have loved the Cards all season. They were at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium when UCF upset Louisville, and they left the stadium happy that night because they knew that they would have a shot at getting Teddy Bridgewater and the Florida-heavy roster (and alumni) of Louisville down to it’s bowl game.

Kickoff for this game is at 6:45 p.m. ET. December 28 is also the day of the Louisville-Kentucky men’s basketball game in Lexington. That game will tip at 4:00 p.m. ET. So that means it should end sometime around 6-6:15. Then you have just a little bit of time to digest that game and get ready for a bowl game. Regardless of the outcomes, December 28th will be an entertaining day for sure!
