Cochran started 25 games as a true freshman. She led the team with 6.9 rpg last year. Cochran averaged 21 mpg, 9.9 ppg, the aforementioned 6.9 rpg, and 0.8 bpg while being named to the 2020-2021 ACC All-Freshman Team.

Coach Walz: “I thought O had a really nice freshman year, for a freshman to jump in the post and be asked to do what she did, I was impressed with her. She rebounded the ball really really well for us, but I’d love to see her improve a little bit in all those statistical areas and then at the defensive end as well.”

My Take: Cochran surprised a lot of fans by being named the starter from game 1. Look for Cochran to improve on her really good freshman year. At times, it seemed like the physicality and speed of the game got the best of Cochran. However, this year look for Cochran to be able to assert her dominant and physical presence game after game. Cochran is definitely an all conference performer, but her eyes should be set on being a national All-American. She definitely has the game and the potential to anchor things in the post for Louisville for years to come.
