As we enter the final week of the regular season, here is where DeVante Parker ranks in some of the receiving categories in UofL history. We are only left to wonder “what if” when it comes to these records and Parker, as he missed the first 7 games this season with his foot injury.

Career Receptions

1. 299   Arnold Jackson, 1997-00

2. 217   Ibn Green, 1996-99

Back in July, I posted some of the all-time receiving records at UofL and showed where DeVante Parker ranked in those categories. Obviously, there wasn’t any need to update them during the season since he missed the first 6 games. But now since he is back, and back with a vengeance, I figured it would be ok to update the stats now. So here is where DeVante ranks among the all-time UofL greats. Keep in mind, he still has 3 games to play.

Career Receptions

1. 299   Arnold Jackson, 1997-00

2. 217   Ibn Green, 1996-99

3. 187   J.R. Russell, 2001-04

Will Devante Reach Milestones?

FootballvsFSUParker3

I was talking to a buddy of mine earlier about Louisville football. I use to play, he used to play. We were talking about a conversation we had before the season when were talking about Devante Parker beating Ibn Greens Career TD record of 33. I said he would and my friend joked, not if he gets hurt. The day I found out that DP got hurt I called up said friend and cursed him out. Well, not cursed but I talked very loud. Calm down a little, I know he wasn’t to blame. Maybe a little. I digress. We were all sure Devante would break records and I still believe he will. I was talking to another friend tonight who brought up a great point.  Devante has the opportunity to reach 1000 yards receiving this year despite missing 7 games. 7 GAMES! He currently has 17 catches for 346 yards or an average of 173 a game. He needs 654 yards or an average of 163.5 yards per game. It sounds outlandish but if anyone can do it, its Devante AKA Spiderman. So my first question, will Devante Parker break Ibn Greens career TD record of 33? Devante has 28:

Next Question:

I’m interested in seeing what you guys think. Feel free to comment if you want to elaborate. whether he breaks these records or not he will still be one of the most revered Wide Receivers we have ever had. Good luck to the guys Saturday #BeatBostonCollege

It’s only July, but with the Cards officially in the ACC now, that opening football game against Miami on September 1 feels like it’s right around the corner. Because of that, it seemed like a good time to update you on the wide receiver record books at UofL. Senior DeVante Parker has a chance to put his name at or near the top of a lot of lists for the Cards this season. These are only the career lists, but of course he can make his way onto season-leading lists as the season goes on. Let’s see where he stands right now entering the 2014 season.

CSZ Countdown to Kickoff: 10 days!

The Countdown to Kickoff is now at 10 days! Here is former UofL Wide Receiver Arnold Jackson!

Arnold Jackson: (1996-2000)

Jackson holds the record at UofL for most receiving yards with his 3,670 yards. The next closest is Harry Douglas, and he isn’t that close with 2,924 yards! Arnold Jackson was an explosive player, and also a great punt returner. Anytime he touched the ball, there was excitement because the fans knew a TD was very possible!

He also holds the UofL record for most receptions with 300. The next closest is Ibn Green with 217!
