This week I am really missing football so I wanted to just go back and reminisce of the final game of the season. I think the not having baseball to occupy my time has really got me missing football more than ever. Usually I start getting heavy into my football research beginning in June. But…

Born and raised in Louisville. THS, U of L and Sig Ep for life. I appreciate everyday that I wake up. My 2 boys are my greatest accomplishment in life.
Last week we posted an opponent preview from a Syracuse website. You guys really seemed to like that so we will try to find as many as we can for you. As I stated last week, in early August, we will be releasing our annual game by game predictions where we give you info about…
Recently, William Hill sports book released their odds for all the football conference champions. BrandonMarcello, of 247 sports, wrote an article giving you his best bets, sleepers and don’t touch ’em. I’ve posted his thoughts under the ACC odds listed below. Since it’s a no brainer that Clemson is favored to win the ACC, I would…
An article in the Northern Kentucky Tribune was posted this morning titled “Louisville football coach ‘sitting in limbo’ as pandemic disrupts normalcy for college athletics.” The article was written by Louisville associate SID, Rocco Gasparro. It’s obvious that Coach Satterfield is as eager as any of us to return to normal, but he understands that…
Depending on who you talk to, there may or may not be a college football season. I’m going to tell you that there will absolutely be a 2020 college football season. Will it be played as scheduled? I’m not certain about that but I am certain in will be played. Maybe not a full 12…

Looking at the current roster for the 2020 version of the Louisville football team, there are five quarterbacks listed. The five listed are Micale Cunningham, Jawon Pass, Evan Conley, Tee Webb and Will Warren. Three of those QB’s threw at least 24 passes last season. Most of you believe 100% that Micale Cunningham is the…
CBS Sports released their predicted win totals for the ACC football season. I’ll be releasing my annual game by game predictions once it gets closer to the season and when I’ve done enough research that I can give you more informed predictions. But for now, I don’t think these projections for UofL are too far…
It’s no secret the coach Satterfield likes to run the ball. In each of Satterfield’s first four seasons at Appalachian State, the Mountaineers had a running back carry at least 18 times per game. Coach Satterfield also likes a complementary backs behind the starter. Under Satterfield, the second running back has finished the season with at…
University of Louisville junior offensive lineman, Mekhi Becton, was selected by the NY Jets in the 2020 NFL draft. He was the 11th player selected in the draft and the third offensive lineman selected. So what will his rookie deal look like when he signs?
Mekhi Becton may not be playing on Saturdays anymore but he will be a Louisville Cardinal forever. All of us at Cardinal Sports Zone are thankful for his time here and will continue to support him no matter what NFL team selects him tonight. Here are a few of the moments we captured over the…
In mid December, 2019, just two weeks before the Cards took on Mississippi State in the Music City Bowl, coach Satterfield announced the team awards at the 2019 Football Celebration. When Coach Satterfield arrived at Louisville he found, “a group of players who were down, but eager to win.” He spent months, as he says,…
As of today, we are not sure when the 2020 college football season will be played. I’m overly confident that it will be played. It may not start as scheduled or even be a 12 game season, but I’m confident we will see something that will be titled, the 2020-21 college football season. When the…
Here are my top 10 captures from the 2019 football season. A really enjoyable season that ended with a 38 – 28 Music City Bowl victory over Mississippi State. It’s really hard to just pick 10 because each moment is special in its own way. They are numbered 10 – 1 but in reality there…
An anonymous NFL scout said the following about why they ranked Becton lower than most: “Know why I have him fifth? Because he loves to cook and eat more than he loves frigging football … He can be a freak now. You could hit on him. You know what he is? He’s Trent Brown (Las Vegas Raiders…
I’ve answered this question many times over the last several weeks. I’m no future teller or even a great prognosticator but yet people still ask me. I assume they just want to know what I am hearing from the people I talk to from the College Football Writers Association of America and UofL. Or they…
