It was a very rough 2018 for Jawon Pass and the Louisville Cardinals football team. Nothing went as planned – even the 2 victories were struggles. Jawon Pass was supposed to come in and take over for the best college football player ever at Louisville (Lamar Jackson). No pressure there – Right? It didn’t help…

Born and raised in Louisville. THS, U of L and Sig Ep for life. I appreciate everyday that I wake up. My 2 boys are my greatest accomplishment in life.
Louisville Football held their annual media day on August 10th. Cardinal Sports Zone already brought you some pictures from the day, but now we are ready to bring you even more coverage with an amazing video. I promise that you will not find any player interviews quite like the ones you are about witness. CSZ’s…
The conversation about the third down music seems to have gotten out of hand. A few people disliked it and voiced their displeasure on social media – and that’s fine. Now it’s a fad and people are complaining just to complain. There are your Van Halen purist who don’t like the song just because it’s…
Jeremy Wahman, Jeff Nunn and Cody Higdon had a small Q&A session with Bryan Driskell (@BGI_CoachD), football analyst at Blue & Gold Illustrated. You can read his great articles here. In this Q&A, we discuss Notre Dame joining the ACC in football, Notre Dames offense, defense and breakout players as well as a prediction for…
I have said before that if Louisville can win games against EKU, WKU, BC and Wake, then they would be 4-2 and have a new sense of confidence. With that confidence, there is no telling where the season could end up. Those remaining 50/50 games could be more like 60/40. But let us not get…
Recently I made my game by game predictions and I believe Louisville will win 4, maybe 5 games despite the 3.5 win total set by Las Vegas. Many people still believe that there is a strong possibility that Louisville will in fact win 6 games and get to play in a bowl game. I must…
We continue our look at the 2019 Louisville football team with a preview of this year’s wide receivers as evaluated by Samuel Basden.
Louisville held its annual football media day on Saturday at Cardinal Stadium. Coach Satterfield addressed the media first followed by defensive coordinator Bryan Brown. Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line coach Dwayne Ledford talked next. After that, a few players were made available including Jawon Pass, Malik Cunningham, Mekhi Becton, Dez Fitzpatrick, Rodjay Burns and several others. We will…
Last year my predictions were a little off. I don’t think anyone saw a 2 win season. Las Vegas set last years projected win total at 6.5. This year Vegas may believe Louisville still has a hangover from the poor season. They set this year’s win total at 3.5. While there is still a lot…
A lot has changed with Louisville football over the past few years. There has been some really good times and some really bad times. The 2019 home and season opener was supposed to be a heavyweight battle and hopefully Louisville’s statement victory on the way to the college football playoffs. Instead, it’s just a blackout…
This season is the start of a new era of Cardinal football. When we last saw our beloved Cardinals on the field, there wasn’t much to celebrate. Louisville finished the season at 2-10. The defense ranked 122nd out of 129 and they ranked 121st in scoring offense (per NCAA.com). You don’t have to be a…
The University officially announced today that the home opener against Notre Dame on September 2nd will be a Blackout. The game time is set for 8:00. I don’t think the uniforms will effect the outcome of the game but it sure helps bring excitement to the new era of Cardinal football. As soon as we…
I have seen it debated all over social media about who will be the quarterback for the Louisville Cardinals when they open up against Notre Dame on September 2nd. I don’t think there is really anything to debate. Jawon Pass gives you the best chance to win – not just that game, but every game….
The ACC media days have concluded. It was no surprise that Clemson was picked to win the Atlantic and the overall champion. It was some what of a surprise that Louisville was picked last. I expected Louisville to be near the bottom after a 2-10 2018 campaign and a coaching change but last overall behind…
A couple of days ago, a depth chart appeared on social media. I first saw it posted on Twitter. It seemed to surface pretty early so I wasn’t sure if it was officially released by UofL. From this point forward we are going to discuss it like it’s the official chart. Even if it is…
I am back from vacation and now 100% committed to Louisville football. I’ll be busy reading everything I can get my hands on, talking to anyone associated with the program and getting any information I can get to better help bring you everything you need to know to get you ready for this season. On…
On Friday, four-star 2020 QB, Chubba Purdy, committed to Louisville. On Friday, he also agreed to a Q&A with yours truly. I try not to get overly excited until a commit actually shows up on campus and is enrolled in school but these are very different circumstances. The program is in a complete rebuild process…
The Louisville defensive line desperately needs some depth. On Saturday afternoon, they received immediate help when Ty Tyler, a Conference USA Second-Team selection in 2018, announced he would be playing his redshirt-senior year for the Cards. Tyler is a 6-foot-3, 262-pounder from Punta Gorda, Florida. He is a grad transfer from Marshall and will be…
The University of Louisville baseball team is making its 5th trip to Omaha for the College World Series. Louisville’s first game will be against nemesis, No. 2 Vanderbilt at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The Cards would have to win at least three games in the next week to make it to the CWS finals (4…
I don’t think it’s an understatement to say that the last few years as a Cardinal fan have been challenging, distressing, heartbreaking, vexing, grueling, cumbersome and unstable. There have been a few moments that have brought hope and a slight glimpse into what could be a bright future but with the probability of future NCAA…
