University of Louisville volleyball player Katie George has earned all kinds of accolades on the court. She has made All East Region, was on the All-Tournament team for the USA National Collegiate Team, All-Conference First Team, and more. Basically, she is a heck of a volleyball player.

Now Katie can add another title to her resumé: Miss Kentucky USA 2015. She beat out 16 other contestants competing for the title on Sunday night at the Ursuline Arts Center in Louisville. According to the Courier-Journal, George said this was her first pageant. “I can’t tell you what just happened to me. I’ve never been in a pageant before and I’ve never worn a crown, but this is a pretty amazing feeling,” said George. “So I am excited to represent the Commonwealth of Kentucky.”

Before arriving at UofL, Katie played volleyball at Assumption High School for Ron Kordes, who is the father of UofL volleyball coach Anne Kordes.
